Unique Digital, Cinedavis Launch Movie Transit in Germany

Unique Digital and Cinedavis today announced the creation of a distribution partnership to provide electronic delivery of feature films for the German market. This partnership will directly benefit from the recently announced alliance between Deluxe Technicolor and Unique Digital to provide a long-term viable future for Deluxe’ customers in terms of content delivery, with Unique as the preferred vendor in agreed territories worldwide. Delivery of feature film to specific exhibitors will be possible by the end of quarter three with a plan to have connected more than 200 cinemas by March 2017.

JinyiGuangMei Selects AAM Software for Entire Cinema Chain

Arts Alliance Media has been selected by cinema operator Jinyi GuangMei to provide automated scheduling and content management across its entire cinema chain. AAM’s Producer and Screenwriter systems will be deployed for all 150 of JinyiGuangMei’s screens, which span over 15 sites across China. The deal was concluded with AAM’s Chinese reseller partner, Guangdong Pearl River Cine & Video Equipment.

Atom 360 Part of Paramount's Star Trek Push

Paramount Pictures is partnering with Atom Tickets to drive ticket sales for the highly anticipated Star Trek Beyond with a creative two-week marketing campaign called Atom 360. Leading up to the July 22 release, the campaign will feature exclusive content from Star Trek Beyond that will premiere inside the app.

American Moviegoers Hate Waiting

Most moviegoers hate waiting in ticket lines. And, according to a recent survey, they also hate slow or worse yet, non-working online ticket services. How much do they hate it? According to the survey, 62 percent of Americans would be disgruntled if they were purchasing movie tickets and the website or app went down, and nearly all (90 percent) agreed that movie ticketing websites and apps should have zero downtime this summer. The survey also revealed which summer blockbusters Americans are the most excited to see. Finding Dory topped the list with 44 percent, followed by the new Star Trek movie (33 percent) and Jason Bourne (32 percent).

Cineplexx Deploys Cinema Next Software

Austrian cinema chain Cineplexx, a subsidiary of Constantin Film Holding, will deploy Cinema Next’s proprietary Melody Theatre Management System and Symphony circuit management software across its entire network. This represents a total of 228 screens and 31 different sites. The rollout is expected to begin this summer at all Cineplexx cinemas located in Austria, Italy, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro and Serbia. Cinema Next is part of the Ymagis Group.

MPS to Integrate OnCinema with Sony Digital Cinema TMS

Sony Digital Cinema and MPS have agreed to integrate MPS’s newly launched OnCinema software client within Sony Theatre Management Systems within Europe. This move would make Sony’s TMS solution the first in the industry to be fully integrated with the OnCinema platform, adding a number of possible substantial benefits to Sony’s exhibitor customers, including true end-to-end delivery and real-time feedback on key delivery status.
