The FilmLight Color Awards return for the fourth year in 2024 with an additional new category dedicated to rising talent. The awards, which will once again be presented at EnergaCamerImage in November, are independently judged by a panel of prominent creatives, cinematographers, and colorists.
The horror film Traction Park Massacre is currently filming outside of Atlanta through April. Directed and written by Adam Dubin (Murder at the Front Row, A Year and a Half in The Life Of Metallica) and Douglas diMonda, the film is an ode to Eighties slasher movies, along with genre classics, like Evil Dead, Friday the 13th, and Saw.
Directed by Héléna Klotz, La Vénus d'argent (aka Spirit of Ecstasy) tells the story of Jeanne Francoeur (played by Claire Pommet), a young woman striving to escape the circumstances of her birth by morphing into a silent predator in the world of investment banking. Working with Panavision Paris, cinematographer Victor Seguin, AFC employed PVintage and Primo 70 lenses and a Panavised Sony Venice camera to help visualize Jeanne’s contrasting environments. The Malayalam film industry recently suffered a major setback when PVR Inox pulled Malayalam films from the screens across the country. Even other film industries like Telugu, which had bought the dubbing rights for Malayalam films, suffered losses as the films were abruptly withdrawn.

National CineMedia, the US representative to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, has announced the winners of the 2024 US Young Lions competition. More than 500 teams of young professionals across the advertising, digital, media, creative and public relations industries registered for the competition this year, up 20 percent year over year. There were 333 official competition entries, an increase of 17 percent compared to last year. The five winning teams were named and honored by NCM at the Team USA Winners Announcement event, hosted by Initiative, with all 25 finalist teams in attendance.

Warner Bros. has crossed the one-billion-dollar mark at the international box office, becoming the first studio to reach the milestone this year. At 15 weeks, this is also the fastest the Studio has topped one billion dollars overseas. Warner Bros.’ previous record was 17 weeks in 2018. Projections through Sunday are $1.040 billion.
Supercines, Ecuador’s largest cinema chain, has just opened the 10-screen multiplex Supercines Orellana, which has been equipped with Christie cinema technology, including RGB pure laser projectors, Christie Vive Audio and LCD digital signage displays. T&T Cinema supplied and installed all Christie equipment in the new complex.
