The Fuse Group, parent organization of Rising Sun Pictures, among other companies, has announced the appointment of long-term executive member Jennie Zeiher to the role of president of Rising Sun Pictures.
Rising Sun Pictures’ latest collaboration with Marvel Studios is its most expansive in scope and visually stunning. The studio delivered more than 300 visual effects shots for the studio’s new blockbuster hit, Thor: Love and Thunder, directed by Taika Waititi, including its sensational opening, and closing scenes.
New York Women in Film & Television and the Museum of the Moving Image will present the screening of NYWIFT member Nadia Tass’s film The Big Steal on July 31. Tass will be available for a post-screening discussion.

Vista Group International has announced the appointment of two senior executives into new roles, effective July 1. Sarah Lewthwaite has been promoted to chief executive of Movio, the group’s data driven movie marketing company. At the same time, Movio chief operating officer, Matthew Liebmann, will move into the newly created role of chief innovation and data officer for Vista Group, based in Auckland.
Adelaide-based visual effects studio Rising Sun Pictures has seen its fortunes grow spectacularly over the past two years and has applied its artistry to a series of high-profile projects ranging from the Baz Luhrmann film Elvis and Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder to the hit series The Boys, Cowboy Bebop and Hawkeye. To keep pace with its burgeoning workload, RSP has added staff and resources to its main studio in Adelaide and has also launched a satellite operation in Brisbane.
The film content delivery company Gofilex has announced that it is now formally open for business in the Asia-Pacific region. Starting today, the expansion will see Gofilex’s services extend to Australia and New Zealand. The new office is being managed by a newly formed team.
Ian Cope, senior visual effects producer at Australia’s Rising Sun Pictures recently celebrated his 20-year anniversary at the company. A significant accomplishment in any career, Cope’s longevity is especially impressive for someone in the visual effects industry, where employment at one studio is often measured in months, not years. And, in that time he has worked on a long list of successful films, including Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Gravity, Ford v Ferrari, and Spiderman: Far from Home, to name just a few.
Benefitting from a worldwide boom in film and series production, Adelaide-based Rising Sun Pictures has opened a visual effects production studio in Brisbane. Visual effects supervisor Marc Varisco and compositing supervisor Matt Greig are leading the studio’s artist team. Veteran visual effects producer Jayne Herrmann is overseeing production.
