London’s world famous Abbey Road Studios has added DTS:X mixing tools to its mix stage facility. The installation is fully operational and available for professional content creators to mix both feature films and music.
CinemaNext recently debuted its new premium format Sphera theatre concept at Village Cinemas in the Mall of Athens. Combining the latest in projection, audio and lighting technologies, the Sphera theatre at Village Cinemas includes an 82-foot wide wall-to-wall screen, 669 luxury seats, 4K digital video projectors and a high-quality Dolby Atmos surround sound system. In order to provide a unique and innovative movie going experience, CinemaNext decided to incorporate Martin VDO Sceptron LED video fixtures to create a dynamic lighting system that complements the visuals on the screen.
Harman Professional Solutions today announced the grand opening of the Harman Experience Center – London. The new facility expands the growing global network of Harman Professional Solutions Experience Centers, including locations in Los Angeles, Singapore and Shanghai, and will serve as the new headquarters for the EMEA region.

Movio has announced that its new Audience Insights tool launches globally next week. The company believes it could revolutionize how cinemas engage with their customers by predicting the most likely audience for each film. A world-first, cinema-centric tool, it draws on past audience behavioral data, helping cinema marketers connect moviegoers with the films most suited to them. They can then work out how best to incentivize attendance.
Industry veteran Bob Raposo has joined Sony Electronics’ Professional Solutions Americas group as head of its theatre business. In that role, Raposo will focus on expanding Sony’s relationships with exhibitors and delivering a new experience for moviegoers through crystal LED direct view technology as well as Sony’s high dynamic range-ready 4K laser projector.
