Directed by Pamela Adlon, Babes is a heartfelt, contemporary comedy set in New York City. At its core, the movie is about the deep love and strong friendship between Eden (played by co-writer and producer Ilana Glazer) and Dawn (Michelle Buteau). The feature blends humor with deep emotional resonance as the two friends navigate family life and motherhood. With its timeless visual style, the film captures the charm of classic cinema while grounding its narrative in the present day. The project's distinct look was crafted through the close collaboration of cinematographer Jeffrey Kim and Light Iron colorist Keith Jenson.

SFIFF to Present Actor Bryan Cranston its Lifetime Achievement Award

The Santa Fe International Film Festival has announced that renowned, award-winning actor Bryan Cranston will be honored with its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award on October 19, at the Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In addition, the festival announced it will open with Netflix’s The Piano Lesson directed and co-written by Malcolm Washington and close with Disney’s Out of My Mind directed by Amber Sealey. The festival will take place October 16-20.

Submissions Now Open for SOC Camera Operator of the Year, Technical Achievement Awards

Colorfront Adds New Capabilities to its Transkoder

Colorfront has introduced new tools for standard dynamic range to high dynamic range color workflows that dramatically augment its feature-set for cinema mastering. These capabilities were unveiled at IBC 2024 during demonstrations at The Okura Hotel, Amsterdam. The new tools are powered by Colorfront Engine, the color-volume re-mapper that uses the Human Perceptual Model for multiple-display mastering, while maintaining the original creative intent, and which features in Colorfront’s Transkoder, On-Set Dailies/Express Dailies products.
