CJ 4DPlex has named veteran marketing executive Bobbie Andrews as its new senior vice president and managing director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Andrews has more than 15 years of theatrical industry experience and will lead strategic growth and marketing efforts across EMEA for the cinema technology company’s groundbreaking, premium formats, ScreenX and 4DX.
The National Association of Theatre Owners will honor Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas with the NATO Spirit of the Industry Award during this year’s CinemaCon. Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon, made the announcement.

Dave Chameides, SOC, and B camera operator Cristian Trova won the Camera Operator of the Year award in television for Ozark, season 4, episode 14, A Hard Way to Go.
Iain Neil, chief optics advisor of Cooke Optics, has received the Gordon E. Sawyer Award for his "substantial, extensive and innovative lens designs which have had lasting impact in motion picture cinematography.”
The Motion Picture Sound Editors associated presented the 70th Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards in a live ceremony held yesterday evening at the historic Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. Recognizing outstanding achievement in sound editing, MPSE Golden Reel Awards were presented in 20 categories encompassing feature films, long-form and short-form television, animation, documentaries, games, and student work.
Marcus Theatres has announced that industry veteran Steve Bunnell has been appointed executive vice president of content strategy. Bunnell will bring years of experience and relationships with film studios and theatrical exhibition to lead the programming of new releases and experiential cinema and maximize attendance and revenue for the 84 Marcus Theatres and Movie Tavern locations.
Founder Lee Roy Mitchell, 85, is stepping down from the Cinemark board of directors following a highly influential tenure spanning nearly 40 years. Mitchell has served on the board since its inception and transitioned from executive chairman to member of the board in 2022.
Marketing executive Briana McElroy has been named head of worldwide digital marketing for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. Her appointment was announced by JP Richards and Keri Moore, president, and co-president of marketing for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, to whom McElroy will report.
