Motion picture and television sound executive Paul Rodriguez passed away September 26th in Los Angeles of cardiac arrest after a brief hospitalization. He was 65. Rodriguez was president of South Lake Audio Services and vice president of audio services and development at Roundabout Entertainment in Burbank where he oversaw post-production sound for projects including HBO’s Westworld.
Motion Picture Solutions has appointed Matt Aspray the company’s chief executive officer. He takes over from Howard Kiedaisch, who is stepping aside to focus on the growth of Bel Air Cinema, a company he co-founded and in which MPS is a principal partner.
Ymagis Group has appointed Jean Firome has been appointed chief financial officer, replacing Rémi Gérard, who left the group this summer for personal reasons. Philippe Lefebvre joins the group as vice president procurement. Benoit Schils is the group’s new quality director.
Movio has promoted Matthew Liebmann to global president, Movio Cinema. He previously held the title of senior vice president, the Americas.
SMPTE today announced that it will elevate 12 industry leaders to the status of SMPTE Fellow. This honor is conferred on individuals who have, through their proficiency and contributions to the industry, attained an outstanding rank among members of the Society.
