IFP Week Makes Moves

After 37 years in Manhattan, the Independent Filmmaker Project’s Film Week is moving across the river to Brooklyn. The event will set up shop in DUMBO anchored around its headquarters, the Made in NY Media Center By IFP. Film Week will run September 17-22. The IFP has also expanded to support television, digital, web, virtual reality and app-based series at its upcoming IFP Film Week. Series showrunners and creators will take part in the IFP Project Forum, the only international co-production market in the U.S. featuring stories for all platforms

March on Washington Film Festival Names Winners

The March on Washington Film Festival has named the winners of its inaugural Student and Emerging Filmmaker Competition. The eight films were selected from 75 projects that responded to the question: what’s your civil right? Jurors named winners and runners-up in narrative and documentary categories, for both student and emerging filmmakers. The winning films showcase diverse and powerful young voices, and cover a range of issues including criminal justice reform, immigration, racial justice, sexuality, and gender identity.

Marina Del Rey Film Festival to Feature Cinetransformer

Seeking to reach a larger audience, increase sponsorship and provide a professional screening venue for its film festival, the Marina Del Rey Film Festival will host Cinetransformer at its festival August 14th at the Jamaica Bay Inn in Marina Del Rey, California. The Cinetransformer is a 91-seat mobile cinema housed in a 53-foot double-expandable trailer.

Three Nights of Docs from Rooftop Films

Christie Supports Shanghai Film Festival Again

Christie is proud to serve as the exclusive digital projection partner of the Shanghai International Film Festival for the eighth consecutive year. The festival runs June 11-19. Currently in its 19th year, the SIFF is known as China’s only non-specialized competitive international film festival accredited by the Paris-based Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films. The festival kicked off in style with the screening of Cold War II – the long-awaited sequel to the 2013 smash hit starring Chow Yun-fat and Aaron Kwok, while Korean-Chinese co-produced melodrama Sweet Sixteen will close the event. The Christie Solaria CP4230 DLP 4K Digital Cinema Projector is once again given the honor to screen both films at this prestigious event, attended by numerous international and regional celebrities.
