Since 1973, the Norwegian International Film Festival has been held annually in Haugesund, Norway. It runs for 10 days in August, during which attendees have the opportunity to view over 70 films from 24 countries. In the cinema world, the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund is considered The Nordic Cannes.

NewFest, New York's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Film Festival has announced the complete feature film lineup for its 26th edition, which will be held July 24-29. The 17th Shanghai International Film Festival opened with the screening of the classic Chinese film Stage Sisters, which has been fully restored in 4K. Directed by the late Chinese director Xie Jin and first released in 1964, the 50-year-old film is now widely regarded as Xie’s masterpiece.
The second annual Film and Music Festival will be held the weekend of June 26-29 at the Martha's Vineyard Film Center. The four-day festival will include features and short films, an opening-night reception on Friday, social gatherings, as well as live music, and post screening Q&As with special guests.
