Spotlight, Cinépolis Extend Long-Term Partnership

Spotlight Cinema Networks and Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas today announced an extension of their long-term partnership which includes adding 47 more Cinépolis screens to Spotlight's national theatre network. As of April 1, 2024, Spotlight will represent all of the Cinépolis U.S. luxury locations, inclusive of five Moviehouse & Eatery theatres located across Dallas and Austin, Texas.

Hoyts Cinemas Partners with Mable on Sensory Screenings

Working with Hoyts Cinemas, Mable became Australia’s first-ever sensory screening partner in July last year, which saw the brand sponsor all screenings across the country. Mable is an Australian platform where people who require in-home or community care and support can search for and connect directly with independent support workers in their area.

A Spirit Between Worlds

Directed by Héléna Klotz, La Vénus d'argent (aka Spirit of Ecstasy) tells the story of Jeanne Francoeur (played by Claire Pommet), a young woman striving to escape the circumstances of her birth by morphing into a silent predator in the world of investment banking. Working with Panavision Paris, cinematographer Victor Seguin, AFC employed PVintage and Primo 70 lenses and a Panavised Sony Venice camera to help visualize Jeanne’s contrasting environments. Here, Seguin shares his experiences collaborating with Klotz and finding a unique look for each of Jeanne's worlds.

PVR Inox, Malayalam Film Industry Still at Odds

The dispute between the Malayalam film industry and exhibitor PVR Inox remains unresolved. The Malayalam film industry recently suffered a major setback when PVR Inox pulled Malayalam films from the screens across the country. Even other film industries like Telugu, which had bought the dubbing rights for Malayalam films, suffered losses as the films were abruptly withdrawn.
