Cinelive Signs with Kencast to Offer New Services to Latin American Cinemas

Cinelive has signed with KenCast to implement the Digital Cinema Package delivery format to the more than 150 movie theaters that are already part of Cinelive’s network. KenCast’s DCDC delivery system CinemaPro enables delivery of very large movie files and live events, and includes simultaneous recording for time-shifting with its DVR features, allowing delivery to multiple screens, as well as recording of events for later play out.

Qube Cinema Servers Licensed to Support Dolby Atmos Playback

Qube Cinema has been licensed to support Dolby Atmos playback in its servers. The Qube XP-D and XP-I digital cinema servers are the first in the Qube server line to be evaluated to support Dolby Atmos playback with software updates expected to be available in early 2014. Dolby Atmos unleashes the potential of sound in storytelling by giving filmmakers the ability to precisely place or move sounds anywhere in the movie theatre, even overhead, to create the most engaging cinematic experience ever.

LMT Completes Croatian National Digital Cinema Transition Project

Croatian digital cinema and AV systems integrator LMT Laboratory of Multimedia Technologies, Zagreb, has reported that virtually Croatian art, municipal and independent cinemas are fully equipped with the latest generation of digital cinema equipment. The company was awarded the public tender for the digitalization of independent cinemas in Croatia in July 2013

Golden Screen Cinemas, the leading multiplex operator in Malaysia, is the first to install the Dolby Atmos sound platform in Malaysia. The White Storm, directed by one of Hong Kong's most renowned film directors, Benny Chan, and starring prominent Hong Kong actors Louis Koo and Ching Wan Lau was the first Dolby Atmos film to be showcased at the theatre.

AAM Announces Lifeguard Digital Cinema Software

Arts Alliance Media has launched the latest product in its digital cinema software suite – Lifeguard – designed to monitor equipment across a cinema circuit and to power cinema Network Operations Centers. The software has been developed in-house using the years of experience gained by AAM whilst running their own NOC, which supports thousands of screens worldwide, and is now available to exhibitor and integrator partners around the world to power their own NOCs.
