Event cinema distributor Fathom Events has enhanced its executive team with the appointment of Tom Bracken as vice president of marketing, Nancy Silverstone as vice president of programming and the promotion of Daren Miller to vice president of business affairs & strategy.

Strike Media has appointed Melissa Cogavin to the new position of consultant. Her role will be to grow the footprint and profile of Strike Media and advise on event cinema campaigns. Cogavin will also work closely on the expansion and growth of the social film app MyFilmClub for Wez Merchant, owner of both Strike Media and Under The Influence Of, MyFilmClub’s parent company.
George Eyles has been named chief executive officer of theatrical distribution software company Maccs. He will be responsible for the company’s operations in more than 50 countries. Maccs is a Vista Group company.
Award-winning supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer Will Files has joined Sony Pictures Post Production Services. Files, who spent a decade at Skywalker Sound, brings credits on more than 80 feature films, including Passengers, Deadpool, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Fantastic Four. Files won a 2018 MPSE Golden Reel Award for his work on War for the Planet of the Apes. His current project is the upcoming Columbia Pictures release Venom out in U.S. theaters October 5.
Jay Wyatt has joined QSC Cinema as sales engineer. In his new role, Wyatt will be primarily responsible for pre-sales technical support, product training, and cinema system design consulting.
Deluxe Entertainment Services Group has announced that Skip Kimball has joined leading color grading and post house EFilm as senior colorist. Kimball brings to the company more than 30 years of experience spanning features, television, music videos, and commercials.
Industry veteran Bob Raposo has joined Sony Electronics’ Professional Solutions Americas group as head of its theatre business. In that role, Raposo will focus on expanding Sony’s relationships with exhibitors and delivering a new experience for moviegoers through crystal LED direct view technology as well as Sony’s high dynamic range-ready 4K laser projector.
Arts Alliance Media has named Patrick Foley CEO as a result of the planned departure of John Aalbers. Following the successful sale of AAM to Luxin-Rio late last year, Aalbers decided it would be an appropriate time to hand over the reins in order to pursue a number of other interests and opportunities.
The Event Cinema Association today announced that founder and managing director Melissa Cogavin has mutually agreed with the board of directors to resign her position. The board has elected to manage the day-to-day running of the ECA for an interim period and will be seeking a replacement for Cogavin in the near future.
