The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced that Ang Lee's highly anticipated Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk as a special world premiere presentation of the 54th New York Film Festival, October 14, at AMC Lincoln Square.
Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles announced today its first slate of more than 100 films included in the 2016 line-up. The festival is being held September 21-28 at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live. Advance ticket sales will begin next week.

Christie today announced that industry veteran Susie Beiersdorf has joined Christie as vice president, cinema sales – Americas, while long-time Christie stalwart Dave Muscat has been promoted to vice president, sales, enterprise solutions – Americas. The two new positions are effective immediately and will report to Dale Miller, executive vice-president, global sales, for Christie.

Dolby Laboratories, Vudu, and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the first slate of titles now available in ultra high definition with Dolby Vision high dynamic range imaging. Dolby Vision titles now available for purchase and rental on Vudu include the all-new release The Huntsman: Winter’s War, and fan favorites Lucy, Oblivion, and Lone Survivor.
Wanda Cinema Line has committed to purchasing 1,500 Dolby digital cinema server units for its cinema screens in China through 2018, including the Dolby ShowVault/IMB and the Dolby Integrated Media Server IMS2000.

Severtson Screens has announced new microperf options that are now available for its folded SēVision 3D GX line of cinema projection screens. The line will be featured during CinéShow 2016, held in Dallas from August 29-31 at the Hotel InterContinental Dallas.
AMIA and the Alamo Drafthouse, in partnership with The Film Foundation, are offering a three day projection workshop for projectionists and staff presenting 35mm film in theaters. The workshop offers speakers and hands-on tutorials for projectionists working with 35mm film prints and will focus on film preparation and projection as well as special stipulations for archival projection, and coordinating with lending institutions. The workshop is aimed at those who have some booth experience and are looking to expand their knowledge and skills.
