QSC Wins Third Teddy Award

For the third year in a row, QSC Cinema has been honored with the prestigious Teddy Award, an annual award voted by dealer members of the International Cinema Technology Association. The award recognizes the ICTA Manufacturer that best exemplifies the progressive principles of product development, and provides the dealers with service and up-to-date technical and sales information, while supporting the status of their product without qualification. The Teddy Award was presented to QSC at the recent annual ICTA Convention in Berlin, Germany.

CinemaNext Opens North American Office in Irving, Texas

Xinshidai MZC Cinema Installs Christie Vive Audio

Located in Benxi, in China’s Liaoning Province, Xinshidai MZC Cinema recently opened a 700-seat cineplex that consists of five halls, including a Dolby Atmos certified flagship auditorium with Christie Vive Audio in Hall 2, as well as a specially configured VIP auditorium that offers a premium movie-going experience. This is the first cinema complex in China’s northeastern region to be equipped with Christie cinema audio.

SMPTE today announced that it will elevate 12 industry leaders to the status of SMPTE Fellow. This honor is conferred on individuals who have, through their proficiency and contributions to the industry, attained an outstanding rank among members of the Society. Screenvision, Hogan Announce College Movie Program

Screenvision Media today announced a fall and spring campus movie program that allows brands to sponsor and take over the movie experience with branded integrations, sampling and on-screen custom content and messaging. The move is part of an enhancement of its college campus network with the Hogan Communications Network, an entertainment-based media and marketing company specializing in the college and young adult markets.

Kingsman Releasing in ScreenX

ScreenX, the world’s first multi-projection system that provides a 270-degree panoramic film viewing experience within a theatre setting, has announced that Twentieth Century Fox’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be available in the immersive format. In addition to opening in ScreenX, the film will be made available for bookings on nearly 400 4DX screens in 49 countries around the world.

Vista Group Acquires Senda Dirección Tecnológica

Vista Group International has reached an agreement with its long-term Latin American business partner Senda Dirección Tecnológica to take a controlling 60 percent share in the company, which will be renamed Vista Latin America, become of full member of the Vista Group and continue to be run by its founders and managers, Armando Mejias and Gustavo Ortega.
