Alchemy Post Sound provided Foley effects for Good Time, the new thriller from directors Benny and Josh Safdie, supporting its action, vivid imagery and dark humor with creative sound. Working under the direction of supervising sound editor Ryan M. Price, MPSE, and re-recording mixer Evan Mangiamele, the Alchemy team (consisting of Foley artists Leslie Bloome and Joanna Fang and Foley mixers Ryan Collison and Nicholas Seaman) produced a vast assortment of custom sounds in preparing the film for festival screenings.
AlphaDogs has completed post-production services on Sony’s new superhero comedy, Cross Wars, a high-spirited and dynamic action comedy in the vein of Deadpool and The Cannonball Run. The story features lots of celebrities (Danny Trejo, Tom Sizemore, Brian Austin Green, Vinnie Jones and more), as well as newcomers having fun battling the streets of Los Angeles, with hot girls, sexy guns and witty banter.
The Hollywood Professional Association Awards Committee has announced the winners of the 2017 Engineering Excellence Awards. Winners were determined after a judging session held June 17 after presentations to a panel of industry experts. The awards will be presented November 16 at the 12th annual HPA Awards gala at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California.

While many sound departments wait for picture-lock before starting to work on the sound, the team at Storyline is breaking the mold of the traditional serial workflow by closely aligning audio with video editors from the first cut.
Rikard Steiber, president of Viveport and senior vice president virtual reality at HTC Vive, will give a conference keynote presentation September 16 at IBC2017 looking at the road ahead for virtual reality. The session will look at the emerging swathe of consumer devices and services, such as the Viveport VR app store, as well as showcasing successful VR experiences across platforms, from entertainment to sports content.
