Veteran Colorist Kevin Michael Kirwan Joins Periscope Post & Audio

Veteran colorist Kevin Michael Kirwan (American Crime Story, American Horror Story) has joined Periscope Post & Audio. Kirwan brings more than 20 years of experience as a senior colorist and credits on more than 40 television series. At Periscope, he will perform final color out of an all-new color-grading suite in Periscope’s facility in Hollywood, which launched earlier this year.

AMIA to Bestow Preservation Awards at Annual Conference

At this year’s Association of Moving Image Archivists annual conference in Baltimore, four awards will be presented by the organization to individuals and organizations that have demonstrated exceptional work in the areas of preservation. The ceremony will take place on November 14 at the Parkway Theatre in Baltimore, where the convention runs from November 13-16.

Caranicas Named Recipient of First HPA Legacy Award

The Hollywood Professional Association and the HPA Awards Committee have announced that respected journalist Peter Caranicas will be honored with the HPA Legacy Award. Caranicas is the first recipient of the honor. Given only at the discretion of the HPA Awards Committee and HPA Board of Directors, the HPA Legacy Award honors inspiring leaders, mentors, influencers, and those who have made consistent and valuable contributions to the industry. The award will be bestowed on November 21 at the 14th annual HPA Awards gala at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Red Names Alan Piper Managing Director for EMEA

Red Digital Cinema has named Alan Piper managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Piper, a veteran in the industry with previous experience at Red, will oversee operations, sales, marketing, services, and customer relationships in the region, while expanding the company’s interface with post-production facilities. He will be based in the Red offices at Pinewood Studios and will manage the launch of Red’s new storefront facility in Soho early next year.

Donna Speciale Appointed to NCM Board of Directors

National CineMedia, the largest cinema advertising network in the U.S., today announced that Donna Speciale has been appointed to its board of directors. A trailblazing advertising executive with extensive experience on both the advertising agency and media network side, Speciale was most recently the president of advertising sales at WarnerMedia where she oversaw advertising revenue for the company’s domestic entertainment, news and kids’ television and digital brands since 2012.

QSC Names Chan Senior Director, North Asia; Promotes Two Others

Lucie Barbier-Dearnley Joins Sim New York as Senior Colorist

Continuing to build the pool of talent at its post-production facility in New York, Sim has hired Lucie Barbier-Dearnley as senior colorist. Barbier arrives from Company 3, London, and brings expansive credits across features, episodic television and documentaries. Her first projects for Sim will include Aggie, a documentary about philanthropist and art patron Agnes Gund; and the feature You Should Have Left for Blumhouse Productions and director David Koepp.
