Movie Studio Plan Approved in New Jersey

The Bayonne, New Jersey Planning Board has approved a major motion picture studio at the southern tip of the city. The movie studio, 1888, named after the year the motion picture camera was invented by Thomas Edison, will give a facelift to a long-vacant site. The studio will be constructed by 1888 Studios on nearly 75 acres of land at the former site of the Texaco oil refinery site.

Everest Documentary Restored

MacGillivray Freeman Films, producers of Everest, spent months completing an all-new 16K restoration of the film for a special digitally remastered release.

Lotus Cinemas Set to Open

Lotus Cinemas, an international and independent film theatre, is set to open on March 25 at Parkside Town Commons in Cary, about 18 miles from Durham, North Carolina. The theatre is a new concept and is the brainchild of Paragon Theatres’ co-CEOs Michael Whalen and Michael Wilson.

The Batman Playing Worldwide in ScreenX

CJ 4DPlex and Warner Bros. Pictures, have announced that The Batman is now playing in the immersive 270-degree panoramic ScreenX for the first time in cinemas worldwide. The iconic DC Superhero has never been seen like this in the cinema before. ScreenX will expand specially selected sequences of the film onto the left and right-side walls of the auditorium, surrounding audiences with extended imagery which naturally fills their peripheral vision.

As her political ambitions see her outgrowing the underworld connections responsible for her considerable wealth, she's drawn into a power struggle that threatens everything she holds dear. Details about the sequel are shrouded in secrecy but will provide a long-awaited continuation of the gripping story. The sequel’s cinematographer is Kagho Odhebor.
