Village Cinemas, one of the leading multiplex operators in Australia, has installed Dolby Atmos technology at two of the VMAX cinema auditoriums at Crown Casino, Melbourne. Invited guests will be among the first to experience the sound technology at the iconic VMAX cinema auditoriums at a special preview screening of Edge of Tomorrow, the new action film from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures, which opens in Australia on June 5th.

Maheshwari Theatre Second in Bangalore, India to Adopt Barco’s Auro 11.1 Sound

The Maheshwari Theatre in Bangalore, India has installed Barco Auro 11.1 sound technology. The new sound system will be unveiled at a press conference May 23. The 1,000-seat theater is the second screen in the region to upgrade its sound system to Auro 11.1; the Manasa Theatre upgraded its sound last July.

As if vibrating chairs, gusts of wind, thunder and lightning was not enough, the Israel Theaters Group which owns Cinema City International, recently added a Barco Auro 3D sound system to the three largest theaters at the Yes Planet complexes in Rishon LeZion. The multi-dimensional sound system features Harman’s JBL loudspeakers and Crown DSi 2000 amplifiers.
