Southern Theatres’ Movie Tavern Flourtown 8 in Flourtown, Pennsylvania marks the installation of the 200th Christie Vive Audio system. Christie says it expects to have the 300th Vive Audio system installed by the opening of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens on December 18.
GDC Technology will install DTS:X sound in four premium large format screens at three new Epic Theatres locations in the first quarter of 2016. GDC’s Immersive Sound Media Server, the SX-2000X, powers the new system. It is the only digital cinema server currently available in the market capable of rendering DTS:X in real-time.
Christie has extended its Vive Audio line with the introduction of the LA2 premium screen channel loudspeaker and the LA3S-3ohm premium surround channel loudspeaker. Barco has installed AP 24 Auro processors in Globe Theatres and Barasat Cinemas, two branches of the Arti Cinemas Group both located in Kolkata. Long-time Barco Partner R&S Electronics did the installation. Both cinemas are the first in Kolkata to be equipped with Barco’s Auro 11.1 immersive sound system.
