Sixteen19 marked one year at its new headquarters in New York’s Chelsea district with the launch of its second 4K DI finishing theatre. The theatre will enable the company’s artists and technicians – led by co-founders Pete Conlin and Jonathan Hoffman, and senior colorist Andrew Francis – to build on a breakthrough year marked by physical expansion, high-profile projects and inroads into new markets.

Soundbreaking: Stories from the Cutting Edge of Recorded Music provides a fascinating portrait of the melding of art and technology in the development of popular music. The eight-part PBS documentary finished at Technicolor PostWorks New York. Produced by Show of Force and directed by Maro Chermayeff and Jeff Dupre, the series reaches back to the 1920s, when music was first committed to vinyl, but focuses in particular on the period from the 1960s to the present and the revolution that was set in motion by the late Sir George Martin and the Beatles through their innovative use of multi-tracking.

Ymagis Group Reports Significant Growth First Nine Months 2016

Ymagis Group today reported its consolidated revenue figures for the third quarter of 2016 and first nine months of the 2016 fiscal year ended September 30. With third quarter 2016 revenue up +11.6 percent at €42.3 million, Ymagis Group reported a marked increase in sales during the first nine months of the 2016 fiscal year at €125.9M, representing an increase of +18.7 percent.

Brice 3 Releasing in EclairColor

A second feature film, Brice 3, has been re-mastered with Ymagis Group’s EclairColor digital color technology. The James Huth film starring Jean Dujardin, Clovis Cornillac and Bruno Salomone will be released in France on Wednesday and shown exclusively in EclairColor at the Gaumont Marignan cinema on the Champs-Elysées. The CinemaNext France teams have equipped one of the largest auditoriums at the Gaumont Marignan with EclairColor technology.

Ymagis Group to Present EclairColor Digital Color in Los Angeles November 1-4

Ymagis Group will showcase its new EclairColor digital color solution in Los Angeles over a four-day period from November 1-4. The presentation will take place at the landmark 350-seat screening facility Harmony Gold Preview House on Sunset Boulevard, which has been specially equipped with a Sony Digital Cinema 4K SRX-R515 projection system.

Sully Graded at Technicolor LA

Clint Eastwood’s biographical drama Sully was color graded at Technicolor LA by colorist Maxine Gervais. Produced by Malpaso Productions, the film tells the true story of pilot Chesley Sully Sullenberger, portrayed by Tom Hanks, and applauds him as a hero after he safely landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River in New York back in 2009, saving 155 lives.

Five New Films Coming in Dolby Cinema

Dolby Laboratories today announced five new titles to be shown at Dolby Cinema locations around the globe. The titles include Lionsgate’s Deepwater Horizon, due out September 30; Twentieth Century Fox’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, due out September 30; Sony Pictures’ Inferno, due out October 28; Lionsgate’s La La Land, due out December 16; and Legendary/Universal Pictures’ The Great Wall, due out February 17, 2017.
