QuVIS Announces 4K Stand Alone DCP Player

QuVIS has announced the availability of the Ovation II DCP player, a player capable of supporting 4K playback in a small form factor and at an affordable price. The company believes Ovation II can ease the challenges faced by independent film festival organizers for playback and screening and provide a platform for independent film producers to efficiently and effectively test out their digital cinema packages before showing them on the big screen.

Technicolor PostWorks Supports SXSW Films

Technicolor PostWorks provided post-production services for six films screening at this month’s South By Southwest Film Festival. They include headliners Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine, in its world premiere, and Manglehorn, in its U.S. premiere. Also screening are Adult Beginners (Festival Favorites/U.S. Premiere), The Final Girls (Narrative Spotlight/World Premiere), The Grief of Others (Narrative Competition/World Premiere) and Mania Days(Narrative Spotlight/World Premiere).

FotoKem Restores The Sound of Music

FotoKem’s restoration of Twentieth Century Fox’s The Sound of Music will kick off the sixth annual TCM Classic Film Festival on March 26 in Hollywood. Originally released in 1965, the re-mastered version of this cinematic treasure will grace the screen of the TCL Chinese Theater IMAX as the fest’s Opening Night Film, as previously announced by TCM.
