GDC Technology Limited announced today it has signed an agreement with Film Expos Group to be the official co-presenting sponsor of CineAsia 2024. As part of the agreement, GDC will continue to play a significant role at Asia’s largest convention and trade show, which is held solely to promote a sustainable and greener cinema industry. CineAsia will be held December 9-12 at the True Icon Hall in Bangkok, Thailand.
GDC Technology announced today that it has developed three high-performance media servers for LED cinema screens. “LED direct view displays have greatly improved color and contrast performance, high frame rate support and image resolution scalability when compared to traditional digital cinema projectors,” said Pranay Kumar, CTO of GDC Technology Limited
GDC Technology Limited has won a solicited proposal to be CJ CGV Cinemas exclusive provider from 2023 to 2026. The agreement involves the deployment in China, South Korea, and Southeast Asia of the GDC’s SR-1000 media servers with a built-in cinema audio processor for 7.1 surround sound and enterprise storage.
Wanda Cinema Line, China’s largest cinema operator will install as many as 300 GDC Technology digital cinema servers over the next two years. The tender involves the deployment of the SR-1000 standalone integrated media block at Wanda’s existing and new construction projects in China.
As part of its conference sponsorship, GDC Technology Limited provided the ultra-high frame rate media server for the 2023 Supersession presented at last month’s Hollywood Professional Association Tech Retreat. The Supersession presented an original, immersive look at the remarkable creative and technical accomplishments of Avatar: The Way of Water using GDC’s SR-5400C Standalone Integrated Media Block with flexible architecture stable technology high frame rate capability to show the movie in 4K 3D at 48 frames per second per eye.
Inox Leisure, India’s leading multiplex chain, has signed an agreement with GDC Technology Limited to upgrade to GDC’s SR-1000 Standalone Integrated Media Block and install GDC’s Enterprise Series Storage, a dedicated storage playback system designed for an IMB to manage movie content.
GDC Technology Limited will showcase the company’s latest products at CineEurope 2022, the official convention of the International Union of Cinemas, which takes place from June 20-23 at the Barcelona International Conventions Center.

Cinemex is Mexico’s second largest theatre circuit and operates in cities such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Toluca, Juarez, Leon, Tijuana, Mexicali, Puebla, and other Mexican cities. The agreement involves the deployment of the GDC SR-1000 Standalone Integrated Media Block with Portable Storage to to be installed over the next 12 months. The agreement covers the replacement of legacy media servers at existing sites and all Cinemex’s new construction projects in Mexico.
B&B Theatres today signed an agreement that makes GDC Technology Limited its exclusive provider of digital cinema servers for the next three years. B&B Theatres is one of the fastest-growing cinema chains in the US adding 144 screens and 11 movie theatres in the last 18 months to become the fifth-largest domestic theatre circuit. B&B Theatres now operates 513 screens at 56 sites in 14 states.
GDC Technology Limited will launch the company’s latest products at CinemaCon 2022, the world’s largest convention for the exhibition and distribution community, which is being held April 25-28 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. GDC will showcase the new SR-1000 media server with the audio capability of rendering up to 32-channels of DTS:X immersive audio that supports SMPTE’s ST 2098-2 immersive audio bitstream standard.
