B&B Theatres, the nation’s largest privately held theatre chain, is building a luxury eight screen cinema in Joplin, Missouri, the company has announced. The family-owned-and-operated company has enjoyed a strong presence in southwest Missouri for decades. The Joplin location will feature several of B&B’s signature comforts including massive, wall-to-wall curved screens, heated leather recliners and 7.1 surround sound in every auditorium.

Guests can take in the latest films while enjoying food and drinks from the Marquee Bar and Grille, offering made-to-order, hot food items plus wine, beer, and cocktails for guests of age to enjoy responsibly.

Before or after the film, patrons can visit the Outtakes Arcade, which features the newest games and a few of the old classics.

Outside on the roof, there is an outdoor patio with free lawn games. Oversized checkers and Jenga, cornhole, and board games are all available for free play as folks enjoy time together and linger longer with food, friends, and fun.

Carson Stratman of Woodsonia, the group behind the 32nd Street Place Development, said of B&B’s arrival to Joplin, “We are excited to partner with B&B Theatres to bring a modern movie going experience to the area. Having the theatre adjacent to the new apartments in addition to the existing retail and restaurants in the area will create a true mixed use feel to the project.”

Bob Bagby, president and CEO of B&B Theatres, added, “We are so excited to work together with Woodsonia and can’t wait to expand the magic of the movies into Joplin.”
