Screenvision Media has hired west coast sales veteran Vince Amalfi as vice president of national advertising sales. Based in Screenvision Media’s Los Angeles office, Amalfi will lead the LA ad sales team, deepen client relationships and grow opportunities for brands and agencies across the west coast.
FuseFX has added two experienced visual effects supervisors to its creative team in Los Angeles. Dan Levitan brings more than 80 credits as a supervisor and artist on motion picture and television projects spanning two decades. At FuseFX, he is VFX supervisor for the CBS crime drama Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, in addition to co-supervising the ABC drama Notorious.
Pinewood Atlanta Studios, the third-largest film studio in the United States, and the largest purpose-built film studio outside of Hollywood, has appointed Frank Patterson as its first president. Patterson will assume the newly created role on January 1, 2017. He will report to the Pinewood Atlanta Studios board of directors.
Arri has promoted Sebastien Laffoux to director of sales, camera systems, effective immediately. In this new role, he is responsible for managing the entire camera sales team for North America with regional representatives based in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. Laffoux reports directly to Glenn Kennel, president of Arri Inc., who is based at Arri Inc.’s headquarters in Burbank, California.
John Heller, a highly accomplished visual effects supervisor whose credits include such films as Big Miracle, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief and The Bourne Legacy, has joined the staff of FuseFX. Heller, based at the company’s Los Angeles studio, has already contributed to a number of television projects, including the series CSI: Cyber, The Outsiders and Rush Hour.
Animation, visual effects and design company Blur Studio has hired Eric Maurer, character effects supervisor and Oded Raz, asset supervisor. Maurer and Raz will bolster Blur's leadership team, increase the studio's capacity for larger projects, and foster the development of new technology as the company gears up for the next round of feature work by Blur co-founder and Deadpool director Tim Miller.
Walter Schonfeld, the former CEO of SDI Media Group and former president of Technicolor Entertainment Services, has joined Deluxe Entertainment Services Group as president, Digital Cinema Global Operations. Schonfeld brings decades of industry experience and a track record of implementing technology to transform client services to this new role driving worldwide operations for Deluxe Technicolor Digital Cinema.
