On the heels of this week’s limited theatrical engagement of The Empire of Corpses, Funimation Films has announced that advance tickets are now available for the movie Harmony, the second in the series of three animated films adapted from Project Itoh's novels. The film, produced by award-winning Studio 4°C, is co-directed by the duo of Michael Arias and Takashi Nakamura. Presented in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dub versions, Harmony will screen in more than 60 theaters across the United States on May 17 and 18.
Fathom Events has named seasoned film critic and sports and entertainment correspondent, Ben Lyons, as the official host of Fathom Events. Marking a first for the award-winning distributor of alternative content to cinemas, Lyons will engage audiences in person, providing a historical retrospective on the evolution of cinemas and appearing in Fathom’s original pre-show content.

Event cinema will take center stage at CinemaCon April 12th at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas when Fathom Events honors BBC Worldwide North America with its Excellence in Event Cinema Award. The award is for their record-breaking success in global event cinema, featuring the Doctor Who series. The award will be presented by Fathom Events CEO, John Rubey, and accepted by BBC Worldwide executive vice president of franchise and digital enterprises, Soumya Sriraman.
Funimation will screen The Empire of Corpses in more than 50 theaters across the United States on April 19 and 20. The film is the first in a series of three movies based on novels by award-winning writer Project Itoh and is directed by Ryotaro Makihara. Screenvision Media has named Craig O’Connor director of distribution, event cinema. His addition to the Screenvision Media team comes in time for the company’s first highly anticipated event cinema program following their re-launch in partnership with Kaos Connect, premiering May 2016. In his new role, O’Connor will be responsible for the distribution strategy of all event cinema programs.
Caspar Nadaud has been appointed managing director of Pathé Live. He succeeds Thierry Fontaine who now holds the title president. Nadaud, 34 years old, started in 2007 as the sales and distribution manager of Arts Alliance Media, one of the leading international theatrical distributors of Event Cinema. From 2012 on he was the director of international sales and business development.
