Cineum Cannes is the first cinema in France fully equipped with immersive sound, and the second cinema with all laser projection. Designed by architect Rudy Ricciotti, the Cineum Cannes multiplex has 12 cinematic theatres with a total capacity of nearly 2,400 seats in a spectacular architectural setting. The Ecuadorian cinema chain Multicines has just opened a new multiplex in the city of Guayaquil in which all 11 screens are fully equipped with Christie RGB pure laser projectors. The installation was carried out by Cinema Equipment & Supplies. The new multiplex is located in the Mall del Río shopping center in Guayaquil, the country’s main port and largest city.
For the fifteenth time, Christies is the projection technology partner for the Cannes Film Festival, which began today and runs through July 17. It will be the first in-person edition of the Cannes Film Festival since 2019, and Christie will provide installation and show support for the occasion.

Christie is partnering with the Shanghai International Film Festival for the 13th consecutive year. This year’s festival, themed The Film Art of Centennial Glory on a Ceaseless Journey, will run from June 11-20. More than 400 films from around the world will be screened in 40 cinemas located across Shanghai during this period, including those equipped with the Cinity Cinema System and Dolby Cinema, which utilizes Christie projection.
Supercines, Ecuador’s largest cinema chain, has opened a 16-screen multiplex in the city of Guayaquil. Located in the Riocentro Ceibos shopping mall, the new Supercines Ceibos, can seat 3,034 spectators, making it the biggest in the country.
Christie has been chosen by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts as a technology partner for its redeveloped headquarters at 195 Piccadilly in London. The partnership will see a host of Christie integrated technology installed throughout the building, including Christie MicroTiles LED tiles, four laser projectors, media servers and software.
