ArcLight Cinerama Dome Upgrades for Billy Lynn

ArcLight Cinemas has collaborated with Christie to custom fit the legendary Cinerama Dome in order to properly project the west-coast debut of Academy-award winning director Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk in 3D 4K 120 frames-per-seconds, the way it was shot. The debut will be held November 10.

Cinesystem Upgrades to Barco Laser

Cinesystem Cinemas in Morumbi Town, Brazil, is upgrading its entire theatre to Barco laser projection. Cinesystem Cinemas is one of the largest movie theater companies in Brazil and has always aimed to bring innovative technology to the most diverse places in the country. Today with 142 movie theaters throughout the country, the company is preparing its biggest project: inaugurate the most modern movie theater in Latin America, in São Paulo.

Hoyts Installs Christie Laser Projection

Hoyts Chadstone has become the first cineplex in Australia to install Christie’s groundbreaking RGB laser projection system. Located within the sprawling Chadstone Shopping Centre, Hoyts Chadstone has 13 auditoriums, including the 390-seat Xtremescreen premium auditorium fitted with a massive 24-meter wide screen – one of the biggest in Australia. The projection system here includes a Christie CP42LH 3DLP 4K RGB laser projector featuring enhanced wavelength diversification, connected via fiber optic to a laser rack housing nine laser modules that generate white light from multiple combinations of RGB primary color wavelengths to offer a spectacular 3D viewing experience on silver screens.

Five New Films Coming in Dolby Cinema

Dolby Laboratories today announced five new titles to be shown at Dolby Cinema locations around the globe. The titles include Lionsgate’s Deepwater Horizon, due out September 30; Twentieth Century Fox’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, due out September 30; Sony Pictures’ Inferno, due out October 28; Lionsgate’s La La Land, due out December 16; and Legendary/Universal Pictures’ The Great Wall, due out February 17, 2017.

National Upgrades with Barco Laser

National Amusements and Barco have established a strategic partnership to convert all Showcase XPlus auditoriums to Flagship Laser projection. As part of the agreement, National will install Barco’s Flagship Laser projectors in all of its premium large format Showcase XPlus auditoriums beginning with six of its top theater sites in the Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey areas. In the future, all XPlus auditoriums will feature Barco’s Flagship Laser projection technology.
