Top Gun has been named the UK’s favorite Tom Cruise movie of all time, according to new research, commissioned by Showcase Cinemas to celebrate the release of Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One.
The survey delved into the UK’s love of the ultimate Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise.
The UK’s Top Ten Tom Cruise movies of all time are:
Top Gun (23 percent)
Rain Man (16 percent)
Top Gun Maverick (12 percent)
Mission Impossible (10 percent)
Cocktail (9 percent)
A Few Good Men (8 percent)
Jack Reacher (8 percent)
Jerry McGuire (8 percent)
Minority Report (7 percent)
Mission: Impossible 2 (6 percent)
The survey also revealed that Tom Cruise (47 percent) is the actor they associate the second most with the action movie genre, landing narrowly behind Die Hard hero Bruce Willis (55 percent).
And there was further success for Willis, with 80s favorite Die Hard named the nation’s favorite action movie all time, beating out competition from Raiders of the Lost Ark (15 percent) and Top Gun (13 percent).
Elsewhere, the first instalment of the Mission: Impossible franchise was named the nation’s favorite taking 24 percent of the vote.
Jon Dixon, UK marketing director for Showcase Cinemas said, “Action movies are a staple of the big screen, which has been reflected in our survey with two thirds (62 percent) of respondents stating they are the most exciting genre to watch at the cinema.”
