Colorist Society Opens Chapter in Poland

The Colorist Society has launched a chapter in Poland. Led by veteran colorists Konrad Ziecina, CSI and Tomasz Frąszczak, CSI, the chapter is open to professional colorists across Poland’s rapidly growing film, television and advertising industries. It plans to foster networking opportunities, host meetings and training sessions, and promote the craft of color grading both in Poland and internationally. The group also plans to host a colorist mixer.

MPSE Names Bruckheimer Filmmaker of the Year

The Motion Picture Sound Editors will honor Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of this year’s $1.4 billion box office hit Top Gun: Maverick, with its annual Filmmaker Award. Among the most prolific and successful film and television producers of all time, Bruckheimer is responsible for such big-screen spectacles as the Pirates of the Caribbean, National Treasure, Bad Boys and Beverly Hills Cop franchises, and the hits Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, Remember the Titans, Armageddon, The Rock, Crimson Tide, Top Gun and Flashdance.

Hill Country Studios Appoints Kevin Bar Chief Operations Officer

Hill County Studios, the film and television complex being developed in San Marcos, Texas, announced today it has appointed Kevin Bar as chief operations officer. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Bar joins Hill Country Studios from Netflix, where he oversaw development and operations for Netflix Studio hubs across the U.S. and Canada as a member of the global studio operations team.

VFX Studio Milk Appoints Steve MacPherson CTO

The London-based visual effects studio Milk has appointed VFX industry veteran Steve MacPherson as chief technology officer. In the newly created role, MacPherson will be responsible for all of Milk’s technology strategy and operations including systems, pipeline, editorial and research and development, to support the studio as it takes on an expanding roster of premium film and episodic projects.

Audrey Rosenberg’s Authentic Storytelling

Audrey Rosenberg has a long list of impressive credits in film and television. To name just a few, she co-founded Invisible Pictures, where she was a producer on Bull, which premiered in the Uncertain Regard section of Cannes 2019; and is an executive producer on the Topic.com premiere digital series Soul City. Rosenberg was Emmy-nominated as executive producer along with Steven Soderbergh on the HBO documentary, His Way; executive producer on the Emmy- winning HBO documentary By the People: The Election of Barack Obama, produced with Edward Norton. She was part of the producing team with Christine Vachon on Douglas McGrath’s Infamous, starring Sandra Bullock, Daniel Craig, and Toby Jones. She produced Sean Gullette’s award-winning feature, Traitors, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and had its North America premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. A member of New York Women in Film and Television and the Producer's Guild of America, Rosenberg is also on the board of Zimbabwe based organization The Soft Foot Alliance. She co-executive produced Dawn Porter’s Trapped, which won a special jury prize at Sundance for social impact filmmaking and was consulting producer in charge of the U.S. strategy for Raoul Peck’s Academy-Award nominated film I Am Not Your Negro. Her most recent film is the HBO documentary Katrina’s Babies, which has been well-received on the festival circuit. I recently spoke with her via email about this latest project and about her career in general. Here is our conversation.
