That was one of the key questions Peter Doyle, supervising colorist at Technicolor, addressed when he collaborated on the film’s palette.
Germany’s Cinecitta’ Nuremberg, one of Europe’s largest and most technically advanced multiplexes, has purchased two Sony Digital Cinema SRX-R815DS 4K laser dual projection systems. Meanwhile, CineSpace also purchased a SRX-R815DS system for the 25-meter screen at its luxurious Waterfront complex in Bremen. The auditorium also features Dolby Atmos sound.
Australian exhibitor Hoyts has purchased and undisclosed number of Christies’ newly introduced CP4325-RGB pure laser cinema projector. The projectors will be installed at Hoyts’ upcoming flagship all RGB laser cinema complex located in Docklands, Melbourne, as well as in Auckland-based post-production house Department of Post.

Later this month Emagine Entertainment will unveil its Super EMAX theatre, which features a 92 feet wide by more than 48 feet tall screen. The company says it is the largest movie screen in the State of Michigan. Located at Emagine’s Novi location, the theatre’s grand opening will take place December 15 with the first showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Cinépolis, the fourth largest cinema chain in the world, is installing Barco Smart Laser projection in its new Plaza Satélite theatre in Mexico City. Cinépolis is the first movie exhibitor in Mexico to offer laser-illuminated projection in every auditorium in a theatre.
Barco has set another record for cinema laser projector deployments, this time for all-laser multiplexes, in which an exhibitor outfits every auditorium with either a Barco Flagship Laser or Smart Laser projector. There are now one hundred Barco all-laser mulitplexes around the world.
Christie Showcased its CP4325-RGB pure laser cinema projector and the 72nd Australian International Movie Convention taking place now through October 12 at The Star Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Sony Digital Cinema 4K will demonstrate its new Crystal LED direct view display technology at the 72ème Congrès de la Fédération Nationale des Cinémas Français in Deauville from September 25-28.
Australia’s Showbiz Cinemas has chosen the Christie CP2208-LP 3DLP laser phosphor cinema projectors to be deployed in all auditoriums. Located in the new Delacombe Town Centre complex in Ballarat, Victoria, the contemporary 530-seat cinema complex comprises six screens and features luxury seats, surround sound and wall-to-wall screens, with the largest screen in Cinema 1 hall measuring 10 meters wide. The cinema opened August 31.
