Cold Skin Premieres in ÉclairColor

Director Xavier Gens’ horror film Cold Skin premiered today in ÉclairColor HDR at Cines Verdi in Barcelona. The film is being distributed by Diamond Film España. The screening at Cines Verdi was a sneak preview that followed an ÉclairColor high dynamic range technology presentation and a cocktail reception. Cines Verdi, a nine-screen complex, is the first cinema in Spain to incorporate ÉclairColor. Éclair’s exhibitor services company CinemaNext/Proyecson installed the system.

Deluxe Authoring Services Now Dolby Vision Approved

The Deluxe Entertainment Services Group announced today that its compression and authoring services are now Dolby Vision approved, which will rapidly facilitate the release of more high-quality 4K UHD Blu-ray content into the market. Paramount Pictures’ Transformers: The Last Knight will be one of the first Dolby Vision 4K UHD Blu-ray titles delivered.

Alamo Installs 100th EclairColor Screen

The Ymagis Group has installed its first screen in the United States and its 100th cinema auditorium overall with EclairColor high dynamic range at the Alamo Drafthouse cinema in Austin, Texas. The 100 EclairColor screens are currently located across Germany (47) and France (46), the United Kingdom (3), Italy (1), Switzerland (1), Tunisia (1) and the USA (1).

EclairColor HDR Showcased at FNCF

Ymagis Group will showcase EclairColor HDR cinema technology at the upcoming Fédération Nationale des Cinémas Français convention in Deauville, France. Two special presentations will take place at the Centre International de Deauville’s Michel d’Ornano Auditorium on September 26 and 27. Technical presentations of the technology will be also held. The EclairColor presentations will be open to all FNCF convention delegates

CinemaNext Opens North American Office in Irving, Texas

CinemaNext today announced the official opening of its North American offices in Irving, Texas, conveniently located next to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The new facility boasts a 12-seat screening room equipped with EclairColor HDR technology as well as a showroom with digital equipment and solutions on display, office space, conference rooms, customer service/NOC and a warehouse.

ASC Technology Committee Changes Focus, Name

The ASC Technology Committee has been renamed the ASC Motion Imaging Technology Council. Established in 2003, the committee has helped organize efforts to study and assess subjects ranging from digital cameras and lens optics to motion imaging workflows, advanced color management, virtual production techniques digital archiving and more recently virtual reality.
