Overcoming the Low-Budget Comedy Look

Am I Being Unreasonable?, the much-anticipated comedy-thriller series co-written by and starring BAFTA award-winner Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli, belies its low budget with a cinematic look. Shot by Slater Slater Ling, BSC, and directed by Johnny Campbell, the series is set in a small country village where Nic (Cooper) is lonely, bored in her marriage and haunted by a huge secret. One of the biggest challenges was to move away from a standard low-budget comedy look.

Pearl & Dean Partners with Underexposed Arts to Showcase Photo Collection

The British cinema advertising company Pearl & Dean has partnered with Black-led art and cultural organization, Underexposed Arts, for a first-of-its-kind photographic cinema campaign called The Next Gen collection. In addition to appearing within the ad reel, the Underexposed Arts creative will feature in selected screens at the end of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

VFX Studio Milk Appoints Steve MacPherson CTO

The London-based visual effects studio Milk has appointed VFX industry veteran Steve MacPherson as chief technology officer. In the newly created role, MacPherson will be responsible for all of Milk’s technology strategy and operations including systems, pipeline, editorial and research and development, to support the studio as it takes on an expanding roster of premium film and episodic projects.
